When will the High-Speed lanes be finished?

I was driving home the other day and wondered - “When will these new high speed lanes be done?” The new “High Speed” lanes are actually called ORT, Open Road Toll, lanes which is a project RMA has been working on since 2001. I found out that all traffic (southbound) will be directed to the new tolls starting in April. However the ORT Lanes won’t be open until July. That will be a glorious day for all the people sitting on the bridge at 5:00 everyday.

Does this justify the new toll increases?

After those adjustments and rerouting has been done, they will begin on Northbound toll roads, with an ETA of sometime in August.

  1. I hoping for it… Also, wondering what kind of traffic their will be when all those non-smart tag users are merging right - and we are merging left.

  2. Every lane in Chesterfield is a “high speed lane.” Seriously though, a toll increase? There’s 3 tolls in like 5 miles, isn’t THAT enough?
