What needs/problems do you see in our community?

Lack of guidance for our youth? Crumbling marriages? Poverty? Affordable housing? Homelessness? Alcoholism? Drugs?

I’m speaking specifically about Chesterfield County; not Richmond as they are of course different…

  1. We HAVE to stop burning coal. EVERY fish in EVERY American stream and river now has mercury.

Dominion is simply poisoning us all.

  2. Well I was referring to cultural community needs actually, but I can see how that relates to Chesterfield since they do have a plant here…

  3. I find that there is a large amount of crumbling relationships not just marriages and I have noticed that there are not enough community togetherness for events that would be held as a county wide event like Halloween. Poverty is not the cause of this lack of togetherness either, I think that it would be easier to push the blame on the fact of a lack of pride in the community, as well as, in cultural differences. We are a multicultural community and we need to be prideful of that.

  4. The Chesterfield plant is the dirtiest in the state, according to a new report from Environment Virginia.

  5. Charity – not sure how I didn’t see your comment since it seems it is dated 10/29 (??), but I completely agree about the community togetherness… it seems each individual neighborhood has its own thing though. Probably might actually make it harder sometimes in this way, since cultural differences aren’t always the case within each neighborhood (but when there are, it doesn’t seem that those who are different feel very comfortable participating…).

How do you think this could be changed Charity?
