For Chesterfield residents opposing a change, there is a coalition you can join called Recycle Twice.

The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors will be evaluating a change in CVWMA recycling collection from bi-weekly (which still is in effect) to once every 4 weeks.

Discussion scheduled for the Board of Supervisors at their April 15th meeting. If approved, the changes would start July 6th.

NBC12 has reported on this news, noting that the company who performs the collection, Tidewater, “believes the change will cut it’s pick up by nearly 600-tons which equals to thousands of lost revenue dollars. Right now, four to as many as 20 employees could lose their jobs.” In addition, NBC12 identified that the change is “upsetting residents” specifically with regards to the volume of recycling already being collected, and that they already have enough recycling collected for the bi-weekly schedule. I personally would agree with this.

For those who would oppose the change, there is a coalition that has formed, called Recycle Twice. There you can join the coalition, which currently has a little under 500 members.
