Save water or pay! Literally!

The Chesterfield water restrictions went into effect today and if you decide to ignore these regulations you can pay some fines on your next water bill! They’re serious! This from a recent press release:

(i) For the first offense, violators shall be fined $100. For the second offense, violators shall be fined $200. For the third offense, violators shall be fined $400. For the fourth offense, violators shall be fined $800. For the fifth and each subsequent offense, violators shall be fined $1,600. All fines shall be imposed on the violator’s next water bill.

Chesterfield County implements mandatory water restrictions

Volunteer… to save water.

I guess nice weather with no rain isn’t such a good thing. We are beginning a season of drought and Chesterfield County residents and businesses are asked to start conserving water now. Although it’s only voluntary right now, if we don’t get any rainfall by October 10th “The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors will be asked to implement mandatory water restrictions” (chesterfield.gov).

How can you save water? Chesterfield.gov has released conservation measures to follow.
