As a Petersburg resident and lover of the Appomattox River, I am shocked at how ignored Ettrick Riverside Park (near VA State) is by the county and it's residents. It has to be, by far, one of the most beautiful rivers in the metro area. I travel home from work daily only to shake my head at the neglect it suffers. This week, I noticed that it's sign has been removed. Is it even a county park anymore? It's filled with trash and it's public areas are a mess. What an eye sore located at the main entrance of Va State University. I wonder what message this sends about Chesterfield County. It's other parks, located mostly in suburban areas, are well maintained and user friedly. It's just sad that an area with so much history and natural beauty is neglected and ignored. So - with that - I'll say it's my favorite.

My favorite is Sunday Park. I love to walk around the lake. I grew up in Brandermill and totally took the lake for granted. Now i realize what a nice place it really was!

Never heard of Dodd Park (not that I Google it I see why - it's way over in Enon!)... Yeah I really love going to Pocahontas but it's less frequent than Rockwood - primarily because it costs to get in, and because Rockwood is just so close.

Huguenot Park is nice for the kids, but a little farther than we like to drive.

As a geocacher, I spend a lot of time in Chesterfield County Parks. I'd have to echo Scott and Chris and say Rockwood, followed by Dodd Park (Point of Rocks). I also enjoy Henricus and Robious Landing.

As much as I love all of these parks, I have to admit I spend more time in Pocahontas, but since you asked for County, there you go.
