Fatal crash on Lucks Lane Sunday morning

If you happened to see a bunch of rescue vehicles on Courthouse Road along with a Helicopter on Sunday morning, then here’s the reason -

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed one man. The crash occurred at the intersection of Lucks Lane and Abingdon Road at about 7:35 a.m. today.

Police said a 1998 Jeep Cherokee traveling west on Lucks Lane veered into the path of a 2000 Ford Ranger traveling east. Both drivers were transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ranger, Norman G. Powell, 84, of the 1500 block of Abingdon Road, died as a result of his injuries.

Police continue their investigation into this crash.
