Baseball - more Blah Blah Blah
With so much talk about Baseball on TV, in the Paper and in the blogs - I’m starting to hear nothing but Blah Blah Blah. However, some news about baseball and Chesterfield got me listening - even if it wasn’t really any news at all. In Chesterfield today local officials are discussing minor-league baseball. Perhaps just taking notes on what not to do from lesson learned from the City. However, it could be more than that. It seems Board of Supervisor Art Warren is researching on what Gwinnett County, Ga is doing. So maybe just maybe Chesterfield could bring baseball back to the people.
How would Baseball do in Chesterfield?? Depending on location - stadium - team - I would think pretty good. Folks in Chesterfield love baseball. I would venture out and say we have more athletic fields, baseball fields, little leagues, etc than some of our surrounding counties - I could be wrong.
However, Could Chesterfield sustain a team? We love baseball but would we fill up the seats? Would we get people from Richmond and Henrico to venture over the river for baseball??

Minor league Baseball South of the James!!! I’m ready, what is the hold up? With the expansion of Fort Lee around the corner, there is no doubt we can support a minor league baseball team. I would recommend the area of Chesterfield that borders Colonial Heights. It is easily accesible Interstate wise and it is near Hopewell, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Prince George, Chesterfield, etc. Let’s do it!
