449 Red Light Tickets

Did you get 1 of the 449 tickets issued by Chesterfield Police for running a red light in February?  Hopefully, you did not – because you don’t run red lights.

The Chesterfield Police department conducted operation “Running Red Could be Deadly” in February.  Many of the 449 tickets were issued at the following intersections:

Courthouse Road and Midlothian Turnpike, Courthouse and Hull Street roads, and Hull and Old Hundred roads.

  1. It seems to me there would be fewer red light runners if the cross streets had equitable green lights at stop lights. I get depressed when only three or four cars make it across Midlothian Turnpike on a green light. I know the E-W traffic require more time but couldn’t the cross streets get more turn time? Do the lights programmers actually use the results of their “labors”?

  2. Ever tried to get out of the Kroger lot? 4 cars MAX. I’ll run that thing every chance I get because that’s plain silly.

  3. I did get issued a ticket for running the red light at Hull and Courthouse. He called it running I called it going w/ the flow of everyone else and having the ppl behind me and beside me go through it but they sped off I lagged behind so he caught me.He even admitted to getting me 1st.Had 3 kids in the car did not really pay attention but I find it hard to believe it was red and 2 ppl behind me and 1 person beside me and 1 behind her got through the light if I RAN THE RED LIGHT….no i think he wanted to meet his quota. I was the one he got to 1st.
