CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary and arson to a maintenance facility at the Harry G. Daniel Park on Whitepine Road. The suspect was also charged with stealing a Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation service truck from that facility and later setting it on fire.
Officers on routine patrol early Saturday morning discovered the break-in and fire at the park facility. The truck was discovered after a call from CSX Railroad officials who saw the vehicle on fire, near some railroad tracks on Dalebrook Drive.
Michael E. Sosa, 26, of the 8500 block of Chester Forest Lane, was arrested at his home Saturday evening and placed in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 19, 2009.
Pedestrian Killed On Jefferson Davis Highway-The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the 16400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway at about 7:46 p.m. yesterday.
Police said a 1995 Honda Civic sedan was traveling north on Jefferson Davis Highway when the driver struck a pedestrian walking in the roadway.
The pedestrian, Frank T. White Jr., 43, of Petersburg, died at the scene. The driver suffered minor injuries.
Police continue their investigation into this crash.
Infant was killed on Wednesday in a car accident as the driver of the vehicle lost control coming off 295 to route 10 and hit a tree. There was also another child in the car who suffered minor injuries, so did the driver. An investigation is on its way according to CBS6.
