Chesterfield County plans to close Cloverleaf Mall on Feb. 29.
Several businesses are closing following the 2007 holiday season, and it is no longer financially feasible for the mall to remain open. The Chesterfield County Economic Development Authority owns Cloverleaf Mall.
Wow. I thought that the toll should go down as the road gets paid off… I guess I’m wrong. Especially since next year the toll road could go up another 25 cents to $2.75.
According to the RTD:
Most likely, that increase will coincide with the anticipated opening of a new road into Richmond International Airport in late 2010, said Andi Kuhn, a spokeswoman for Transurban, which manages and operates the 8.8-mile Pocahontas 895.
The 1.6-mile connector road, scheduled to start construction later this year, also could have a $1 toll.

Reports of robberies in Chesterfield. Thieves are waking up early to rob their victims as they head off to work. So far the reports are apartments off of Belmont and Iron Bridge near Chippenham Parkway. (Read at NBC12)

Citizens Academy invites residents to be a part of its next academy. The 10-week program begins Feb. 26 and will meet on Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., at the Clover Hill Police Facility, 2730 Hicks Road.
In an effort to prevent the spread of rabies, the Chesterfield County Health Department and Chesterfield County Animal Control will hold a rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, Jan. 26, 1-3 p.m., at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building, 10300 Courthouse Road.
Rabies vaccinations will be available for dogs and cats at a cost of $7 per animal. For safety, cats should be brought to the clinic in pet carriers.
Well you can now wash your car, dog, grass, whatever… go nuts.

Chesterfield fire marshals are investigating an apartment fire that broke out just after 7:30 p.m. yesterday.
When crews arrived they found fire and heavy smoke billowing from a building at 3200 Tanner’s Way.
The fire was marked under control about an hour later and no one was injured.
