The City is Safe

According to the new City Crime Rankings survey published by CQ Press. Richmond is now listed 29th out of the 378 cities surveyed. Can we be excited about being 29th? - true, it’s better than 15th. And just in time for the Ukrops parade on Broad Street. (read more RTD)

Update: Missing parents of child, found.

The mother of a small child found wandering in Ivy Walk Apartments on Sunday night has been located.

A relative of the child recognized him while watching local news and contacted the mother by phone. The mother then contacted police. Police officials expressed gratitude to local media for quickly broadcasting the story and the child’s picture.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Chesterfield Board Debates Illegal Immigration

The county is suggesting making changes to its policies on how to handle Illegal Immigration. One of those changes would effect Rental Properties and how many people can live under one roof. (Read more NBC12)

This is such a hard issue for me to take a stand on. Wouldn’t you do the same if your country couldn’t provide the same services? What if you had family elsewhere in poverty - wouldn’t you want them to come live with you in the U.S? Yes, we have laws and those laws are to protect us and our country. But whats the real solution here? Is preventing people from sharing an apartment with their families the answer? Wouldn’t that effect more people than just Illegal Immigrants?

Police still searching for parents of a small child

Police are searching for the parents or guardians of a toddler found wandering in the Ivywalk apartment complex this evening. He was located near 4012 Burnt Oak Drive at about 9 p.m. by an officer working in the area.

The child is a black male with black, curly hair and brown eyes. He is wearing a green and white shirt with blue denim shorts. He appears to be between 1½ and 2 years old.

CloverLeaf Mall - SOLD!

Looks like Chesterfield is giving in and will now be purchasing the remaining acres of the CloverLeaf Site. Total Cost $16.5 million dollars. (Read More RTD).

That area of Midlothian does need some work - We are hoping that the redevelopment that Chesterfield is planning for that area is going to inspire a lot more redevelopment. But do we really need more Townhouses?? Are they working out here?
