$50.6 million for a new Huguenot Bridge

Noted from Hills and Heights about the Huguenot Bridge replacement project being moved up, I thought that I should add some additional details about the bridge (taken from the RTD article) that I thought were very interesting.

  • 58 Years Old
  • $50.6 million for a replacement
  • 28,000 vehicles drive across the bridge daily
  • The new bridge will be 27 feet wide - 12-foot-wide travel lanes, 10-foot-wide shoulders, 5-foot-wide sidewalk on each side.
  • The project will be ready for contractors to bid on by January 2010 (wow - that’s a long ways away)
  • The project will be completed in 2012
