Two more cases in Petersburg and Henrico were confirmed to be the drug-resistant staph infection. Last week 7 students from James River had gotten the virus.

A tree fell across a busy Chesterfield County roadway tearing down electric wires, snarling traffic, causing a massive power outage and sparking a dangerous fire.
Shortly before noon, the tone sounded announcing tree across power lines. Engine 11 was dispatched.

Three people have been arrested and police are seeking a fourth suspect in connection with the Oct. 10 robbery and injury of an employee at $3 Car Wash, 11100 Hull Street Road. Police are searching for Gregory Javone White, 17, of the 3100 block of Garland Avenue in Richmond.

The second annual Head of the James Regatta took place on Saturday, October 13th at Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield county. The regatta was co-sponsored by James River High School Crew and the Virginia Boat Club. Rowers numbered 256 in total (49 masters and 207 junior rowers) and represented 12 rowing clubs. Clubs traveled from Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Richmond, Chesapeake, Williamsburg and as far away as Raleigh, NC. (more…)
