Bomb threats here, there, and everywhere!

Two more bomb threats today in Chesterfield County. “Woolridge Elementary School about 9:17 a.m., which was followed by a similar threat to L.C. Bird High School. ” according to the RTD

Other related bomb threats? Chesterfield Town Center and Chesterfield County Airport …*could* be related.

Chesterfield school bomb threats

In the past 9 days there have been 11 different bomb threats in 8 different schools in Chesterfield County. 4 of those bomb threats happened yesterday at Meadowbrook High School, Crestwood Elementary School and Clover Hill Elementary School.

One lane of Jahnke closed today

One lane of Jahnke Road at Belleau Drive, will be closed for road repairs. The work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. until about 3 p.m.

All traffic will be alternated through the work area.

Protesters Eaten by Vultures!

According to nbc12, protesters were meeting at the Dutch Gap Conservation Area this morning to protest the killing of Vultures. I don’t think any of the protesters were eaten. However, officials from the park - say that the Vultures have become quite a nuisance to park visitors by damaging vehicles. Vultures seem to like rubber and find windshield wipers and door seals a great snack. (more…)

Daycare provider sentenced to 1 year in prison

This from the Dailypress - careful, this makes your heart hurt.

A Chesterfield County daycare provider will serve one year in prison for the death of a toddler in her care.

A Circuit Court judge on Thursday sentenced 42-year-old Elizabeth Noakes to five years on a conviction for involuntary manslaughter, and suspended all but one year.

Chesterfield has a Hall Of Fame, who knew!

Maybe I am the only one that didn’t know this, but Chesterfield County has a Senior’s Volunteer Hall of Fame. I think visiting the Hall of Fame should be top on the Weekend Plans list, personally! Honestly, I don’t mean to make light of this because the 3 seniors that were inducted yesterday volunteer their time to make the community a better place.

McMurtrie drops out, only 2 candidates Left

Democratic candidate Alexander B. McMurtrie Jr. quit the race for the 11th District seat in the Virginia Senate…. even though he invested $55,000 of his own cash into it.
