Miracle League Field Registration

If you missed the August 25th Registration - Don’t worry you have another chance on September 8th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at the L.C. Bird Athletic Complex.

The miracle league field is a field designed out of cushioned synthetic turf that will allow players in wheelchairs and walkers to move unrestricted without fear of injury.  The league will be open to children ages 3 - 21 who have physical or mental disabilities.  For more information go to the website. www.miracleleagueofrichmond.com

Car accident on East Hundred Road

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a moped and a truck that occurred in the 1900 block of East Hundred Road at about 2:58 a.m. today.Police said a 2007 Ford F-150 truck traveling east on East Hundred Road collided with a moped attempting to cross the road.

The operator of the moped was transported to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police continue their investigation into this crash.

Matko’s Funeral

A funeral for Ryan Anthony Matko, found dead Thursday night in Chesterfield County, is scheduled for tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church off Huguenot Road.

Sprint Triathlon set for this sunday!

There is still time to register for this area’s largest triathlon. Presented by 3Sport, this even starts off at ACAC Fitness Center for the 400 meters of swimming, then 12 miles of biking, and finally a 5K to top it off. Starts at 7am.

BB Gun shooter and robber snatches deposit bag

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are searching for two unidentified men who robbed and shot a female store owner with a BB gun near her home in the 2300 block of Old Bermuda Hundred Road at about 10:25 p.m. on Aug. 23.Police said the victim was approached by two black males after she drove up to her gated driveway and exited her vehicle. One of the suspects ordered the victim to the ground at gunpoint, demanded a deposit bag, and shot her with a BB gun. Both suspects fled in an unknown vehicle. The victim was returning from work at the time of the robbery and was not injured during the incident.

Both suspects are 18-20 years old, between 5 feet and 5 feet 5 inches tall and wore dark clothing. One suspect wore a white bandana over his face.

Missing teen found slain

Ryan Anthony Matko was found last night, unfortunately, shot to death. He had been missing since Tuesday night and was a son of a Richmond detective.
